Geriatric Dermatology and Healthy Skin Ageing

As the global population ages, maintaining healthy skin in older adults has become an important aspect of healthcare. This session will examine physiological changes associated with ageing skin, including reduced collagen production, impaired barrier function, delayed wound healing, xerosis, pruritus, and increased susceptibility to infections and skin cancer. Discussions will cover age-related dermatological diseases, preventive skincare, nutritional support, pharmacological management, and personalized treatment strategies. Participants will also learn about innovative anti-ageing interventions, regenerative therapies, and evidence-based practices that promote healthy skin and improve quality of life in elderly patients.
